Christmas feel!~

I haven't been posting because I just had my finals! Wednesday was my last day and I'm so glad.; A ; I had all 6 finals </3 ugh I think I did better than bad though! • ω •

So, moving on to some xmas spirit! Last Friday I made gift boxes for some friends. The elapse time had to be at least 6 hours + another hour of getting up at 4AM to stick the gifts in the box.Small chinese takeout boxes with some foam snowflake stickers are a great idea, it gives your treats less of a chance to get damaged. These were given to me from my aunt, but if you're interested in getting some many craftstore have bigger and already decorated boxes. Dollar stores also sell 4 for 1 dollar in a pack I think.

Box included:
  • Sour Gummy worm candycane
  • 2x Oreo truffles
  • Cinnamon cookie
  • Sugar Cookie
  • Chocolate chip cookie
  • Orange Poppyseed cake
  • Small little letter of what was in the box
Things I made from scratch: Orange Poppyseed cake + oreo truffles + letters
Other: cookies were pillsbury, but the cinnamon cookies were sugar cookies i rolled in cinnamon powder.

Time for the process!

First off, I did the easy stuff first, which was the cookies. I just put in on a tray, making sure I had atleast 12 cookies each (I only made 10 boxes and a cook has to test their treats!) I had alot of sugar cookies left over so I rolled them in cinnamon for a third cookie flavor <3

Let them cool and stacked them, then wrapped them in tissue paper. By that time my mom had came home and we were able to start on the orange poppyseed cake.

Recipe was from a news article! ' n ' can't find it online,but here's one.

I didn't take pictures of the process, but it's insane how much 2 teaspoons of poppyseeds can look like in 4 loaves of cake! The glaze was a cream cheese and orange mixture, I wish it was more of a glaze though because it ended up being soft and messy in the box ; A ;.

Truffles had to be the messiest thing ever! But it was a big hit with people and SUPER DELICIOUS. While they were cooling I ended up just cutting index cards in half and listing what all that inside the gift boxes

:> Then I went to bed at around midnight and woke myself up at 4am (*A* I was dying), cut the cake , and put the truffles over that. I realized the cake had more of an icing then a glaze : < so i packed forks and napkins to give everyone. From what I heard everyone loved it : > I'm not sure to say if they all appreciated it but....I can't expect everyone to show it I guess, haha.

Next year I may do something like stocking with less meltable treats, or bigger boxes. We'll see!

Anyways, I'm a bit busy with some deco orders I'm currently working on this

> n < I'm no so sure of myself with the variation, I maybe want to back track a replace more pearls than gems, but I've been really lazy by the 4 days straight of rain so I need to start working!

Anyways, hoping you have a great holiday! I'll be back to share my christmas : >
Bye for now!
