Hello! Sorry for last weekend's lack of posting, there were several essays and such due!!
Instead of reviewing one thing at a time, I'd like to review a brand at a time
If I have a few different type things from one brand, I'd like to share a review!!
Taken off website: EYESLIPSFACE |
E.L.F or EYESLIPSFACE promises beauty at all ages and offers extremely low prices. This may come off as great and affordable allowing you to get more products, or a general turn off as the cheap price may give connotation to a cheap makeup. ELF Relies on advertisement through the grapevine, as you may notice that they do not have much advertisement out there, which is why they have much cheaper prices, along with being a simple drug store makeup.
L-R tweezers ($1), studio fan brush($3), face brush($1),Foundation brush($1),Tinted Moisturizer($3),Blush($1),Liquid Eyeliner($1) |
Some things I have.Whenever I go by Target there are a few things I buy, but I've never gone to buy ELF makeup intentionally, more of a "just because it was there" buy.
。。。。。。。。These are personal opinions! 。。。。。。。。
Items I Like
Tweezers: ★★★★☆
- You can't exactly go wrong with tweezers though, aha! When first buying these they were actually REALLY sharp, it would seriously cut the hair before plucking....And if I held the sharp end toward my face it would scratch. Now that is has dulled down, it's great.
- It brings great coverage upon application!
- A very suttle color, which probably has much to do with quality in pigment and such a pale pink, BUT that is what I like. I use this for school just for a bit of color. It's very nice in just giving me a "Hi, I'm not dead" look :>
Items that I Find Decent
Liquid Eyeliner: ★★☆☆☆
- I only recommend this for people who thinly apply eyeliner. Anything thick or winged will most definitely not do. I use it daily, but it involves me going over it with Laura Mercier Black Eyeshadow, which does nothing for a money saver lol.It it rather watery and does not cover, if you were to draw a line it would be a very spacey and separated line, not a fluent and fully black line.
Face Brush: ★★★☆☆
- It's good for applying things that I may want to be more faint, but would probably never do any justice to something pigmented.
- Promises to brush away fly aways and to be used as contouring. Yes, It's shape be be very much so helpful with contouring, but the brush is very flimsy, and there isn't much control in trying to get anything like that done. A smaller and more controlled brush would be of better use when trying to contour, but it is rather useful for fly aways.
Things I Could Do Without
Tinted Moisturizer in Porcelain: ★☆☆☆☆
- online reviews are great for this, so i guess to each their own, but to each their own- it was not too good for me. It smells nice, as it offers Aloe,Cucumber, and Vitamins A,C,& E; BUT, the color is very yellow. I use a small amount under foundation at times because it does moisturize nicely, but using it alone is just very much so unflattering to my skin tone. You would just assume that being a color like porcelain you wouldn't be able to go wrong, but idk lol.
Conclusion?
You get what you pay for. This line is extremely hit or miss, and not a huge dent in your wallet if it happened to be a "miss".Brushes are nice, but nothing compared to high-end brushes. It's very easy to walk in with 10 bucks and walk out with a decent "collection", but is it as appealing as saving up and getting much better quality makeup? Definitively not. I don't choose any of these products to favor over higher-end products I have (as I see some people review to be the case). It's a good brand to have some brushes for a cheap price, something someone starting on makeup may enjoy to have.

I pretty much agree with you. I tend to not like any of their items, but I haven't tried their brushes yet. It seems like most people don't like it though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and the brushes I own by them are very miscellaneous, so I can't answer for the eyeshadow and blush brushes which need more precision.
